ü  In 1885, Otis Elevator Company registered the trademark ‘Escalator’.

ü  In 1912, 15 young women were fired by the Curtis Publishing Company for dancing the ‘Turkey Trot’ during their lunch break.
ü  In 1919, the pop-up toaster was patented.
ü  In 1942, Bing Crosby recorded White Christmas, which became the greatest selling record to date.
ü  In 1987, Michael Jackson attempted to buy the Elephant Man’s remains.
ü  In 2011, Malta became the last country in the European Union to legalize divorce.
