Going to the Hospital

by Lois Jamieson
This morning I won’t be teaching the girls at StarShine the art of etiquette in the Manners Matters Club or the Fashion Club. Instead, I will be going to the hospital for surgery. No surprise…I would much rather spend my time with these wonderful girls!
I am so very thankful for having lived this long, into the age of the many medical wonders that were not possible when I was Jan’s age. This surgery is now being done using laparoscopic technology and I should be home this evening. I will be back next week with a new inspirational story about etiquette and the Manners Matters and Fashion Clubs.
I am even more thankful that I have the opportunity to spend my time getting to know and love these girls, who so desperately need caring adults in their lives. St. Francis had it right when he prayed, “It is in giving that we receive.”
