The Gift of Volunteering - Mary

StarShine is blessed to have many talented giving individuals who volunteer their time and expertise in tutoring or mentoring the students.
Mary is one of these extraordinary people.
She is a part of the volunteer group from St. Barnabas Episcopal Church. She tutors in math once a week and with her scientific background – a PHD in microbiology and minors in both math and chemistry – she is able to move students along quite rapidly, and they love her because she makes it fun.
In Mary’s words, “StarShine is a wonderful school where students respond to tutoring very quickly. It’s a lot of fun working with these kids.”
Like most of our volunteers, Mary generously gives her time to work with more than one organization.  She is the coordinator of the St. Barnabas Annual Mexican Medical Mission. She recently traveled to Mexico where she worked with others providing medicines and other supplies.
Thank you Mary, you are truly a gift to StarShine.
